Borja Prado leaves Mediaset after a year and a half
After a year and a half in the position, Borja Prado has decided to step down from Mediaset, resigning from his role as president of the audiovisual group. Sources close to him have confirmed his imminent departure, indicating that he has completed the stage agreed upon initially with the founder, Silvio Berlusconi, and not with his son Pier Silvio.
Internal conflict in Mediaset
In recent months, Mediaset has been immersed in internal conflicts between Borja Prado and the two CEO’s, Alessandro Salem and Massimo Musolino. Their disagreements have become public, especially regarding the possible dismissal of Jorge Javier Vázquez, a decision supported by Prado but rejected by the network.
Salem opposed the dismissal of the host, expressing his support for Vázquez and the team at La Fábrica de la Tele, the production company of Sálvame.
New institutional responsibilities
Last November, Mediaset announced that Prado would take on responsibilities in support of the editorial line of news programs. However, in June, he was demoted and assigned new functions within the company.
